Process Work
Since the agency had a clear vision of what they wanted, research was relatively simple. I looked at brand indents and other thirds that used simple animation techniques.
One of the techniques I was inspired by was the use of trim paths. I thought it would be clever for the design agency to have animations that would draw themselves. Sketching is a vital part of the brainstorming phase of the design process, and I thought trim paths could convey this.
Other animations I was inspired by used geometric shapes, specifically squares, a prominent shape in the Ideabase brand. Techniques like basic movements, masks, zooms, and fade-ins would be good supporting elements to the other motion graphics.

Of the rough intro storyboards, the agency liked the first idea the most. As for the thirds, they liked my initial ideas but wanted something simpler. I designed new thirds while finalizing storyboards.
